Leon started playing drums at the age of 9 in a family band.  He grew up “jamming” with his brother on bass and went onto playing in a church band for a number of years.  Leon soon joined first working covers act “The Bedrockers” at the age of 17, he then went onto play in party band “The Lone Rangers” with brother James and local boys Craig Allott and Shane Robertson.  Leon successfully auditioned for originals act “Cornerstone” in 1999, going on to do two nationwide tours and releasing one album.  During this time, he wrote a number of songs and performed with “Cornerstone” and two-piece “Tantrum” with Leon Wilks.  Leon was voted Drummer of the Year in 1999, with “Cornerstone”, and again in 2005 with “Bandit”.  Leon began writing and recording a solo album in 2003 and finally released “Redefine” in late 2004.  Leon continues to drum on local albums and perform live with various bands including “Bandit”, Pipeworkz and “The Kicks”.

SCOTT CALVERT – (Keyboards)

Scott started playing the piano as a young child and started classical lessons at the age of ten.  While studying classical piano, Scott started playing for church at 15.  He finished Grade 7 piano before joining an outreach band “Solution” in 1998.  When Solution disbanded in 2000, Scott auditioned for local covers band “Vision” and started playing with them at the beginning of 2001, and is still playing with them now.  Scott was awarded Southland Keyboardist of the Year 2001.  He has played for SDHB/SGHS school productions, doing such shows as Grease, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Godspell and Jesus Christ Superstar.  This is Scott’s second appearance in Pipin’ Hot.
